South Queensferry to Burntisland
Under the bridges, out of the city.
The trail opens beneath the three Forth bridges — Victorian rail, 1960s road, and the cable-stayed Queensferry Crossing — and immediately drops you onto the beach. North Queensferry, Aberdour with its 12th-century castle, the long sand of Silver Sands, then the Hanseatic harbour at Burntisland. You're walking out of commuter-belt Scotland and into the fishing coast.
