Guide
A licensed fell guide, every day
Not a shepherded coach party — one qualified fell guide with a small group, on the same ground they know in every weather. They make the calls on the day about route, timing, and where you stop for lunch.

Adventure · Guided
Most of what we plan is self-guided — you set the pace, we sort the logistics. These are the exceptions: fixed-date guided tours where a licensed fell guide walks (or runs) with you throughout, small groups of four to nine, and everything looked after from the moment you arrive.
Why we guide these
A guided tour makes sense when the terrain is serious enough that local knowledge in bad weather matters, when the logistics are complex enough that having someone handle them on the day pays back the price, or when the joy of the trip is walking in company with someone who knows the ground.
Our first two departures are both on Alfred Wainwright's Eastern Fells — 35 summits from Aira Force to Ambleside. The same route, at two different paces: three days for runners, five days for walkers. Bags moved between every stop, single rooms throughout, no supplement for solo travellers.
Fixed dates, small groups, one price. Choose your departure and we'll do the rest.
Our guided tours
Every trail is walked and re-walked before we open it. We'd rather do four brilliantly than forty badly.

How a guided week works
Guide
Not a shepherded coach party — one qualified fell guide with a small group, on the same ground they know in every weather. They make the calls on the day about route, timing, and where you stop for lunch.
Group
Small enough that everyone gets a room to themselves and no one gets left behind on a ridge. Big enough that the shared dinners at the end of each day are the highlight of the week.
Bags
You carry a daypack. Your main bag is transferred between overnight properties by the time you arrive. 20 kg standard allowance, every day, no exceptions.
Solo
The sell price is the same whether you're travelling alone or with someone. Single rooms throughout. If you'd like to share and bring the cost down, we'll try to match you with another solo traveller on the same departure.
